People Under the Staircase

The People Under the Staircase is the resurrection of The Staircase Theatre; Hamilton’s arts incubator for the past quarter of a century. Now featuring a full service restaurant specializing in vegan pub food, The People Under the Staircase still serves as Hamilton’s premier alternative event space featuring live performances, music, video games, and of course, theatre.

As we are opening during a full lockdown, we will be starting off by offering takeout and delivery from a menu that was created by the minds behind Democracy*, Rise Above Pizza & Wings, and The Hearty Hooligan. When restrictions lift, we will offer a fully accessible safe space for the community featuring two large event rooms, a black box theatre used for both live theatre and film festivals, a large restaurant area, and 3 separate screens and stages.
